श्री Sreedharan जी — Ayurveda mentor Late Shri S.B. Sreedharan — Kerala
Behind every journey there is one person who changes its direction. Behind my journey into Ayurveda stands that person — Shri S.B. Sreedharan (Kerala). It was his inspiration and guidance that helped me understand and embrace Ayurveda closely, and eventually lay the foundation of FreeAyurveda.com — so that this knowledge could reach everyone, free and in simple language.

Introduction

Late Shri S.B. Sreedharan was originally from Kerala and settled in Delhi several decades ago. Practising in the capital, he served as an Ayurvedic physician for nearly four decades. His greatest distinction was his mastery of Nadi Pariksha (pulse diagnosis) — simply by holding the patient's wrist between two fingers, he could read the depth of an illness and then prescribe the remedy. Among the Malayali community and countless patients across Delhi, he was known as a trusted Vaidya. It was under his guidance that I learnt Ayurveda — and that very inspiration became the foundation of FreeAyurveda.com.

What I learnt from him

Shri S.B. Sreedharan taught me that health is not a box of medicines but a way of life — the right diet, the right daily routine, and regular "servicing" of the body. It was from him that I received an old Ayurvedic Panchakarma booklet, which still forms the basis of the content we prepare on our site today.

"A healthy body is a guest chamber for the soul; a sick body is a prison." — this is the thought Shri S.B. Sreedharan always repeated.

A few memories

Kunwer's Reflection

I must have met Late Shri S.B. Sreedharan at least 10 times, and every single time I felt the same thing — this man is overflowing with knowledge. Honestly, half of what he said went right over my head back then; I simply could not follow it — yet his treatment was always bang on. His knowledge ran so deep that capturing it fully in words was beyond me.

What touched me most was his nature. He never spoke of money — if you paid, fine; if you didn't, that was fine too. For him healing was service, not a business. And throughout this journey his wife was always by his side — working alongside him, she herself became an expert, and I have rarely met a woman so kind-hearted. To my regret I still don't know her name, but I will never forget her warmth.

The inspiration behind FreeAyurveda.com today is entirely his gift. This page is my small tribute to him. 🙏

Gratitude to his wife 🙏

These invaluable documents are with us today only because the wife of Late Shri S.B. Sreedharan preserved them. She now lives in Kerala and, despite not having a computer at home, carries his old writings from her house to a computer centre and sends them to me — simply so that her husband's knowledge can be of use to everyone. For such a generous and noble spirit, I am grateful from the bottom of my heart.

She misses Delhi dearly — Shri S.B. Sreedharan settled here many years ago, and most of his life was spent in Delhi. As more of his documents reach me, I will keep adding them here for everyone's benefit — this chain will continue, by his grace. 🌿
